The film's cast shared some tidbits about their favorite pieces of the movie.

Heart of Stone Interview Gal Gadot Alia Bhatt Jamie Dorman

Netflix recently launched the first trailer for Heart of Stone at its Tudum event, which has led to some early interviews occurring for the movie. While we should see a lot more of these as the movie nears its release, it’s good to have some taking place this early in the film’s promotional cycle (although 1.5 months is probably not that early). The movie’s cast Gal Gadot, Alia Bhatt and Jamie Dorman sat down with Collider for a quick chat to reveal their favorite bits about the movie and their respective characters.

Now because this is (comparatively speaking) so early in the film’s lifecycle, we don’t really get any meaningful quotes, tantalizing tidbits, or spoilers of any kind upfront. Regardless, there are some decent bits sprinkled in the responses so I’m going to cherry pick and quote them here.

Let’s start with Jamie Dorman. When asked about what he likes the most about the movie, he teased the movie’s scale with an interesting reveal. According to Jamie, the first 15 minutes are going to be just a great ride, and he hopes the rest of the movie lives up to this.

I just think the scale of it, and the ambition of it. And hopefully, we’ll pull that off. We’re taking people on a proper ride here. You know, right from the off, those first 15 minutes are like … you better be ready for it. It’s very full on and hopefully the whole movie feels like that. It’s a very fun ride and we’re very excited to offer that to people.

This most likely suggests Heart of Stone will begin with an ambitious 15-minute sequence that serves as both, a way to highlight Rachel Stone’s skills in the field while also serving as a prologue to the movie. Ironically, if true, this mimics the structure of James Bond movies, comparisons that Gal Gadot has shrugged off in the past, but I may be getting ahead of myself here as far as guessing goes.

On her part, Bhatt enjoyed the movie’s treatment and the way it’s been shot and acted, as well as the grey characters and their meaningful arcs. She described the movie’s pacing as relentless, which presumably means it’s going to have a flurry of action sequences following each other.

I think what I enjoyed the most when I was watching it (and I watched the film as an audience) was it feels very personal. The way the story unfolds, it feels like you’re really there [because of] the camera work, the way the action sequences are shot. Also the characters, you instantly connect with Rachel Stone because she’s sensitive. She’s not afraid of showing her emotions, but she’s also really tough, and she’s always trying to help and save the day. And all the characters and their arcs and their layers, you understand everyone and it’s not just – this is a bad guy, this is a troubled guy – it’s not that black and white. I love the in-between. And I mainly love the way it’s shot. It just keeps going, there’s no break.

Gadot on her part shared her excitement on seeing the numerous twists in the movie being revealed, while also sharing that the film kind of mixes and packs all ingredients and emotions in one film.

I’m excited for people to see to the edge of their seats. I’m excited for people to see the twists and turns. I think there’s a really good healthy amount of humor and action and drama and just for people to enjoy it and have fun with the movie.
