A recent report revealed the massive paychecks that Robert Downey Jr. and the Russo Brothers will earn for their roles in playing Victor Von Doom and directing Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars respectively. The trio will certainly find themselves short on time seeing as the movies have been locked in for release dates that are barely 2 and 3 years apart. As it turns out, the same report provided us with our very first glimpse at what we can expect in turns of the filming schedule of both movies.

According to Variety, both Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars are slated to begin filming in London some time between April to June 2025. This marks a departure from the previous two Avengers movies as well as most Marvel Studios productions that have traditionally commenced filming in Atlanta, Georgia, where Marvel has headquartered most of their productions, in particular on Pinewood Studios (now renamed to Trilith Studios).

While this is quite ahead of the target release dates, filming both movies of this scale back-to-back makes me suspicious that Marvel would be able to meet their target release dates. Besides, that’s far too less of a build-up from announcement to release. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if Doomsday gets delayed to a 2027 release date, with Secret Wars being pushed back another year to 2028. For now though, both movies remain on schedule and we await the day when brothers Joe and Anthony Russo will share the Day One clip from the filming of these movies, much like they did with Infinity War back in Feb 2017.

Avengers: Doomsday releases in theaters on May 1, 2026. Avengers: Secret Wars arrives a year later on May 7, 2027.
